Easily Cleaning Your Wood Desk

Does your desk look messy and untidy? Is there a pile of paper and other stuff? That means it is high time you organized it. But it is not only that. Once you have removed everything from your desk, now is the perfect time for you to deeply clean it. Here is what to do once you have decided to start cleaning your desk:

  • As a start, cleanersDalston first remove all the stuff from the desk. This way when you start cleaning, you will not have to go around stuff or pick them up and move them while cleaning. This will make your job much easier and faster, if you have a clear surface to clean.
  • Then start by dusting the desk, so that you get rid of the loose dust. This way it won't get on the cloth you use after and it won't scratch the surface of your desk. Use a clean, soft cloth or a feather duster. Do this every week, even though you won't deep clean your desk.
  • Use a product, that is save for cleaning wood. Spray a little on the desk's surface. Wipe with a clean soft cloth. Work in circular motions.
  • Dip the cloth in a jar of mayonnaise and make a thin layer over the surface of the desk. Cleaners Dalston explain that this will provide a deep treatment, which will restore the natural wood lustre. Leave the mayonnaise to stay like that for 20 minutes and then thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth.
  • Once a year apply some beeswax on the desk. Spread it in a thin layer over the entire desk. Leave it like that overnight and then wipe off any excess wax.
