Difference Between Laundry Detergents

Do you know that there is difference between the laundry detergents? And the difference is not only between the brands, but also between the purpose that particular laundry detergent serves. The proper use of a certain laundry detergent can guarantee the most effective washing results for the different fabrics.

Currently on the market there are many different types of water detergents depending on their purpose, but the most widespread remain general-purpose detergents, light-duty detergents, High Efficiency (HE) detergents or combination. Camden cleaners advise you to read the labels on your clothes carefully, so that you know which detergents suit your needs best, but they also recommend to have, at least, one package of general-purpose and light-duty detergents.

But there are other laundry detergents as well. Here is a list of them created by Camden cleaners and explaining their purpose.

General-purpose detergents – universal detergents suitable for different kind of fabrics and textile.

Light-duty detergents – detergents created for delicate fabrics, which require either washing by hand or in the washing machine. Used primary on baby clothes.

High-Efficiency Detergents – detergents specially created for HE washing machines. They come in the form of both liquid or powder, and are formulated to use in low-water volumes.

Liquid Detergents – detergents that are most effective against food and greasy and oil soils. You can use them as pre-treat solution for stain clothes, too.

Powder Detergents – similar to general-purpose detergents. They are extremely effective at lifting ground-in dirt, so that makes them ideal for washing children clothes.

Combination Detergents – they are formulated to do two kinds of cleaning in the same time. They come in two forms either liquid or powder. The liquid combination detergents combine laundry detergent and bleach alternative, while powder combination detergents combine laundry detergents and colour-safe bleach, or fabric softener.
