How to Take Care of Cotton Fabrics

Cotton is a very popular material in the house. It is widely spread because it is quite simple to take care of. Most cloths and towels in the house are made of cotton, as well as a big part of our clothes. That is the reason why you should know how to take care of cotton fabrics. even though it isn't very hard. Here is what you need to know about cotton:

First of all, cotton is a long lasting material and this makes it easy to take care of it. Cleaners Edmonton say that it is perfectly safe to wash it in washing machines and dry it in dryers. For bes results machine wash cotton with warm water, on a normal wash cycle and with a regular detergent. You can also use a colour safe bleach if you like.

Most white cotton garments are safe to be washed on a hot water cycle with bleach. But to be sure, check the instructions on the label. Avoid using more than the recommended bleach amount, because it will damage the fibres of your garment.

When you wash cotton fabrics like towels, use half the amount of the recommended detergent, if you want to keep them soft and fluffy. Also run an extra rinse cycle, because detergent residue will damage the fibres. When you wash such towels, cleaners Edmonton advise you never to use silicon based fibre softener because it is a water repellent and  it will damage the absorbency ability of the towels.

Usually cotton fabrics are combined with other fibres, because cotton items shrink and wrinkle very easily. That is why when you decide to use a cleaning method make sure to check the care label instructions.
