How to Remove Egg Stains from a Carpet?

Egg stains on a carpet are not something that common, but they happen from time to time. They are also not that persistent, but only if treated on time. If you leave them for too long, they will not only remain there forever, but will start smelling really bad.

Here is what you need to do, if you face an egg spot, according to a carpet cleaning London company:

  1. Act as quick as possible and scrape as much of the egg as possible. Use a spatula or something else which is flat to pick up the solid pieces of egg.
  2. Prepare a solution of a teaspoon of dish-washing detergent, two tablespoons of vinegar and one cup water. Mix it well and try it on an inconspicuous area of the carpet first. If it does not damage it apply it to the stain.
  3. Apply only half of the mixture to the stained area and blot with a clean cotton rag or paper towels. Repeat the procedure with the rest of the solution, if needed, until the stain is removed.

This method should entirely remove the egg residue from your carpet. If you feel some odour afterwards, though, wait until your rug is dry and sprinkle baking soda on the spot. Leave it for a night and vacuum in the morning. Baking soda absorbs all kinds of bad smells, so it will help you to get rid of the egg one.

Every day we face all kinds of carpet cleaning issues, like the one we reviewed above. The thing is though, that this type of problems can be easily solved and we should not panic.
